The Samurai
These beautifully crafted figures represent Japan's feudal
past, particularly at the time of the battle of Sekigahara in 1600. The clans
represent the opposing sides during this period which culminated in the battle and would
ultimately lead to the formation of the Tokugawa shogunate which would rule Japan until
1867. Historical miniatures have taken a great step forward with these
charming samurai toy soldiers
They are available in sets and in some individual poses.
Sets are six pieces and usually contain one samurai and five ashigaru, the basic foot
soldier. Each ashigaru is equipped with spear and sword, except of course for the
arquebusiers. They each wear the their clan's uniform and crest. For most
clans, sets are available in an attacking, attention or charging versions.
There are unique individual figures also available as well as
individual samurai taken from the sets.
