Jack Tars and Leathernecks
The WBritain Jack Tars & Leathernecks Collection will feature Marines and Naval personnel from many countries of the world.
By the eighteenth century, most of the great powers had a significant presence on the high seas. While the crews of the warships were slow to develop uniforms in the modern sense, the officers and small contingents of sea-going soldiers (and later, Marines) wore specific uniforms and insignia representing their countries.
Eventually all the current Marines from the Museum Series will become a part of this new collection, along with sailors, officers and landing parties. |
